Situated in a remote and untamed corner of Southern Namibia, the 97,000 hectare Sandfontein Nature Reserve is offered on an exclusive-use basis for 1-12 guests. Home to a diverse array of wildlife, serene rivers and riverbeds, it’s a place that stirs the soul, providing everything necessary to unwind and rediscover the beauty of nature.

With exclusive use of the Sandfontein Nature Reserve and the Lodge, guests can choose to stay in Sandfontein’s Stone Suites, the Sand Suite and/or the Lost Poet Villa. Personalized stays, daily activities and bespoke experiences are tailored according to guests requirements.

Our 5 Stone Suites

Offering 280 sqm (3,000 sqf) of combined indoor and outdoor living space, each suite is equipped with our unique StarBed, allowing guests to choose to sleep in- or outdoors.

Positioned to make the most out of the view, the intimate stone suites offer panoramic views across the red rock mountains, particularly breathtaking at dawn and dusk. The spacious outdoor living area, with outside shower, sun loungers and StarBed, invites guests to dine and sleep under the stars after a day of exploring the great outdoors. Inside, a cocooning space awaits, with a King-sized bed, twin vanities and a rain shower..

With exclusive use of the entire Sandfontein Nature Reserve and access to the Lodge, guests can choose any combination of staying in Sandfontein’s Stone Suites, the Sand Suite and/or the Lost Poet Villa.

The Sand Suite

The Sand Suite enjoys romantic natural light and offers a spacious living space, including a soaring bedroom and a comfortable living area. Sweeping views of the red mountains can be admired from the private terrace, complete with outdoor living area and a StarBed.

The en-suite bathing area features a soaking tub with a splendid view, a walk-in shower, twin vanities and a writing area, window seating and wardrobe. The outdoor living area, with a private living space, an outdoor shower and StarBed, is ideal for taking in the ever-shifting vistas of the landscape and for stargazing.

The Lost Poet Villa

Situated on a hill-top, 5km from the Sandfontein Lodge, sits the Lost Poet Villa, offering truly magical views. The Lost Poet Villa sleeps up to eight guests and is fully provisioned and serviced by the Sandfontein Lodge and team.

Due to its elevation, the Lost Poet Villa delivers 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding landscape with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Four bedrooms are located around a central communal living space, with an interactive kitchen and open plan living space, leading to the expansive outdoor area with a private 15m pool, sun loungers and open-air firepit.

Set against a backdrop of rugged ridges, dry riverbeds and gorges, Sandfontein’s Lodge with its six intimately designed suites and a nearby hilltop villa, offer one of Africa’s most strikingly secluded settings. With exclusive use of the entire Nature Reserve and private access to the Lodge, guests can choose to stay in Sandfontein’s Stone Suites, the Sand Suite and/or the Lost Poet Villa.

Framing panoramic vistas, the Sandfontein Lodge is a light and airy haven, inviting guests to escape civilization, shun routines and be ensconced in the remarkable silence. From the lap pool, sundeck and outdoor lounge, endless views are ever-evolving as the sun transits the sky, while the terrace sets the stage for al-fresco dining and star-gazing around an open-air fire pit.

All units are situated in close proximity to the Lodge, allowing guests to retreat to their private suites. At night, Sandfontein’s unique StarBeds provide the most sublime outdoor unification with Mother Nature, silence and the universe with exceptional views of the Milky Way and shooting stars.
